"Five-Minute Beeswax Wrap DIY
Materials You'll Need
Beeswax pellets or grated beeswax
100% cotton fabric (prewashed)
Parchment paper
Iron
Scissors
Step-by-Step Tutorial:
1. Prepare Your Fabric: Cut your 100% cotton fabric into desired sizes for your beeswax wraps. They can range from small squares for covering bowls to larger rectangles for wrapping sandwiches.
2. Melt the Beeswax: Place a piece of parchment paper on your ironing board or work surface. Sprinkle a layer of beeswax pellets or grated beeswax evenly over the fabric.
3. Iron the Fabric: Cover the fabric with another piece of parchment paper to protect your iron. Using a hot iron, press down firmly on the fabric to melt the beeswax. Move the iron around until all the beeswax is melted and evenly distributed.
4. Allow to Cool: Carefully peel the parchment paper off the fabric and let the beeswax wrap cool and harden for a few minutes.
5. Trim Excess: Once the beeswax wrap has cooled, trim any uneven edges with scissors to create clean, straight lines.
6. Wrap and Seal: Use the warmth of your hands to mold the beeswax wrap around containers or food items. The beeswax will adhere to itself and create a seal to keep your food fresh.
7. Clean and Reuse: After each use, wash the beeswax wrap with mild soap and cool water. Let it air dry completely before using it again. With proper care, your beeswax wraps can last for up to a year!
5. Trim Excess: Once the beeswax wrap has cooled, trim any uneven edges with scissors to create clean, straight lines."
